ONION RINGS



Ingredients:

  • 2 medium onions,
  • 1 cup flour, extra flour if needed,
  • 1 cup olive oil or other vegetable oil, if frying,
  • Salt to taste,

Directions:

  1. Peel skin of onions and slice, separate into rings, and place in boiling water for 5 minutes.
  2.  Safely remove onions and let cool in ice water for approximately 3 minutes.
  3. Completely drain water from onions, roll the rings in flour, and fry in hot olive oil or an air fryer until golden brown .
  4. Sprinkle the crisp rings with salt, and serve.

BBQ Sauce Ingredients:

  • 1 cup organic ketchup or other ketchup,
  • 1/4 cup sugar-free simple syrup, 
  • 1/8 cup apple cider vinegar,
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil,
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste,
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce,

Directions:

  1. In a medium bowl. whisk together all of the ingredients, or puree in a blender.
  2. Makes 8 servings.
